Unlearning Love is a raw and powerful journey through the cycles of heartbreak, self-reflection, and emotional rebirth. Told through deeply personal poetry, Sammi Brown shares her lived experiences with toxic relationships, longing, grief, and the painful process of letting go. Each poem peels back a layer of what we’re taught love is — and what it becomes when survival, trauma, and misplaced trust get in the way. This debut collection moves through stages of Toxic Love, Unlearning, and Healing, offering readers a mirror to their own stories, and a reminder that even in darkness, there is room to grow. Sammi writes with unflinching honesty, giving voice to the pain we hide, the strength we forget, and the freedom that comes from finding yourself after being lost in someone else. This book is not about perfect endings — it’s about powerful beginnings.

Thank you Sammi for giving us a little glimpse into your very personal experiences and trauma. The book really takes you on an emotional journey. The poems are deeply personal but her creative play on words made it relatable for me. This book really brings out a mix of emotions from bringing you to tears to reminding you of how it feels to fall in love. I definitely recommend this beautiful little book of poems!
I just finished the book and honestly, it really hit home. Your words felt so real, like having a conversation I didn’t know I needed. It’s the kind of writing that makes people feel seen, and I know I’m not the only one who’ll connect with it.
The part that really stayed with me was toward the end, when you talked about how the body keeps going. how we’re still healing even when we don’t feel it right away. That stuck with me in a big way. It’s a quiet kind of strength that I think a lot of people forget they have.
What I appreciated most is that it wasn’t just about heartbreak. It was about growth, reflection, and learning how to come back to yourself. You did such an amazing job with this, and I hope you’re as proud of it as you should be. Thank you for sharing something so honest and powerful.
I apologize for the long message
